KEYWORD RESEARCH EXPLANATION
Keyword is a word or sentence that people type into google when they are searching or looking for something. For example, you want to learn how to cook jollof rice, you might type “how to cook jollof rice” on google (now what you type on google is a keyword). So, keyword research is like finding out the exact words that people might be searching on Google that is related to your topic or business, and it helps you to discover the words that people are searching for so that you can write your blog or post to relate with those searches.
If you are able to use the right keyword, Google will be able to understand your post, article or blog better. And you will be able to write post that people want to read and also get more visitors and customers because you are using words that people are searching for online. Which almost everyone goal is to get visible online so that they can easily be find by customers and doing this now will be able to help you to achieve that goal. So next now I will be teaching and explaining on-page SEO to you.
UNDERSTANDING ON-PAGE SEO
I believe everyone knows SEO as Search Engine Optimization, which is the process of trying to appear on the first page of any platform that you find yourself on like Google or social media with the act of using many keywords and now on-page SEO is a kind of SEO where you make sure that all the pages in your website are Optimized. For example, you built a website for car business and you want to use on-page SEO on the car website you built, what you will do now is to make sure that the keyword "car business" is mentioned in your description, heading, paragraph and alt text then you have done on-page SEO on your Website. And doing this on your post or blog then it will go a long way for you and also improve your ranking on google. And now I will be explaining and talking about backlinks & why it matters.
BACKLINKS & WHY IT MATTERS
I will define Backlinks to you as a case where another website put your website link on their pages which simply tells Google that "I trust this website and its information". So why it matters is that the more website links to your website, the more Google trust your website, and rank you higher. For example, you built your website and you don't have any Backlinks yet, to build Backlinks easily is by creating social media account and adding your website URL, writing some short text on medium, Quora, reddit and adding a link at the end of the short text leading to your website. With this little method you will be able to build Backlinks for your website and improve the chances of your ranking on Google. The next thing that I will be teaching and talking to you on is meta tags & search intent so that you will really understand all this SEO terms.
META TAGS & SEARCH INTENT
Meta tags are that small text that you add on your website so as to tell Google what your page is about, but people does not see them on your website but Google sees them. For example, the meta title that appear on Google search and also meta description that shows below the title on Google search, so in general I will just let you see it as labelling a product in your store so that customers easily know what it is. So now with this little explanation & example that I gave you on meta tags, I hope that you really understand it.
Search intent is what someone wants when they search something on Google. For example, someone search "how to create website", so now what they want (intent) is to learn and not to buy, while if they search "how to buy gadgets online", their intent is to buy. So, when writing your blog or post on your website then you must know what the people is looking for and you should write your content to match that. And if you writing your post and content using what people are searching for then you will really see a good conversion and difference on your post, business or blog.
